Job summary

Arizona Public Service (APS) is seeking an Engineer in the Legacy Engineering Program at Palo Verde. The role trains engineers through a 12-month orientation, rotations, and rigorous classroom work, with placement into a Palo Verde work group after completion.

Minimum requirements include a four-year ABET-accredited BS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering. This is a hybrid role with structured development and exposure to cross-functional projects across the nuclear site.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering is required.
• Knowledge of basic engineering principles, practices and theories.
• Apply engineering analyses, design and calculations to projects.
• Strong problem analysis and resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in analysis and preparation of data, reviews and evaluations to aid decisions.
• Prepare engineering plans, designs, specifications, cost estimates, scheduling and studies.
• Interface with customers and departments to align objectives, budget and schedule.
• Provide technical and field support, identify deficiencies and implement corrective actions.
• Participate in business cases and operational plans for projects.
• Present technical results to management and customers when required.
• Stay current with technology trends and engineering developments.
