Job summary

Arizona Public Service (APS) is seeking an Engineer in the Legacy Engineering Program based at Palo Verde. The 12-month orientation trains engineers through on-the-job rotations, site tours and classroom sessions, culminating in placement within a Palo Verde work group.

Qualified candidates hold a 4-year ABET-accredited B.S. in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering. The program emphasizes engineering fundamentals, project work, and collaboration across departments.

• Problem analysis/resolution techniques.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the analysis and preparation of data, technical reviews and evaluations to aid decision making.
• Prepares engineering plans, designs, specifications, cost estimates, scheduling and studies.
• Interface with customer and other departments to ensure objectives are understood and meet requirements, budget and schedule.
• Provides technical and field support to staff and customers; identifies deficiencies and initiates corrective action.
• Participates in preparing business cases and operational plans to implement projects.
• Presents designs, studies or approaches to management and customers.
