Job summary

Arizona Public Service (APS) invites applications for an Engineer in the Legacy Engineering Program at Palo Verde. The program offers a comprehensive orientation training of about 12 months, including on-the-job training, rotations, classroom sessions, and expert briefings, to prepare engineers for assignment within Palo Verde.

Qualified candidates hold a BS in Nuclear Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.

Qualifications

• Four year BS in Nuclear Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
• Knowledge and ability to apply basic discipline engineering principles, practices, and theories.
• Problem analysis/resolution techniques.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the analysis and preparation of data, technical reviews and evaluations, trend analyses, long-range technology assessments, products and services, investigations and verifications to aid decision making.
• Assists in preparing engineering plans, designs, specifications, cost estimates, scheduling, evaluations and studies; prepares drawings, construction notes, purchase orders, specifications and work orders.
• Interfaces with customers and other departments to ensure project objectives are understood and meet customer requirements, budget and schedule.
• Provides technical and field support within areas of specialty to internal staff and customers; identifies deficiencies and troubleshoots to initiate corrective actions; performs periodic testing and analysis of system data.
• Participates in the preparation of business cases and operational plans to implement proposed projects.
• Interacts with customers and management to present technical data and results of studies or designs.
• Maintains awareness of current technology and industry developments to sustain technical capabilities.
