Job summary

Arizona Public Service in the Phoenix area is seeking an Engineer I - Mechanical/Chemical as part of the Legacy Program. The position includes a comprehensive orientation of approximately 12 months, with on-the-job training, rotations through Engineering and other site departments, technical classroom training, and briefings by subject matter experts.

Upon completion, engineers are assigned to a Palo Verde work group. A four year B.S.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Ability to apply basic engineering principles, practices and theories.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assists in analysis and preparation of data, technical reviews and evaluations to aid decision making.
• Assists in preparing engineering plans, designs, specifications, and cost estimates while ensuring compliance with standards.
• Interfaces with customers and departments to ensure project objectives meet requirements, budget and schedule.
• Provides technical and field support, identifies deficiencies, troubleshoots, and initiates corrective actions.
• Participates in business cases and operational plans for project implementation.
• Communicates results of designs/studies to management and customers.
• Keeps abreast of technology developments and maintains engineering expertise.
