Job summary

Arizona Public Service (APS) invites graduates to join the Legacy Engineering Program at Palo Verde. The 12-month orientation blends on‑the‑job training, site rotations, classroom sessions, and expert briefings, culminating in a placement within a Palo Verde work group.

Participants rotate through engineering and other departments, building technical skills and contributing to reliability and efficiency while learning APS standards and nuclear-plant practices.

Qualifications

  • Apply basic engineering principles, practices and theories.
  • Use standard engineering calculations and methods.
  • Demonstrate ability to analyze problems and resolve them.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in analysis and preparation of data, reviews, trend analyses and evaluations to aid decision making.
  • Prepare engineering plans, designs, specifications, cost estimates, scheduling and studies.
  • Interface with customers and departments to ensure objectives meet requirements, budget and schedule.
  • Provide technical and field support, identify deficiencies, potential issues and corrective actions; monitor system data.
  • Participate in the preparation of business cases and operational plans for projects.
  • Present design and study results to management and customers.
  • Stay current with technology and engineering developments.
