Job summary

Nordstrom Technology is seeking an Engineer 2 to design, build, and maintain scalable data-driven solutions, including data ingests, transformations, and APIs across merchandising and planning platforms.

You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to implement efficient solutions, ensure reliability, and participate in on-call support and CI/CD practices. 2+ years of software development and experience with REST/GraphQL are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience designing and implementing RESTful/GraphQL services.
• Experience building data pipelines and data-driven architectures including Airflow.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain ingress/egress data integrations between the Nordstrom IM data platform and external vendor systems (e.g., Toolio).
• Develop robust, maintainable code and services for data ingestion, transformation, and delivery across planning processes.
• Build high‑performant APIs and microservices; work on data pipelines using Airflow, BigQuery, and Kafka.
• Design event-driven services with asynchronous messaging and ensure security and reliability.
• Collaborate with local and partner teams to deliver solutions on time and align with rollout timelines.
• Participate in 24x7 on-call support and incident resolution.
