Job summary
Nordstrom seeks an Engineer 2 to design and develop scalable data integrations between the IM data platform and external systems such as Toolio. You will implement robust services, build data pipelines with Airflow and BigQuery, and ensure secure coding practices while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
The role emphasizes availability, performance, and reliability, with on-call involvement and adherence to engineering standards.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of professional software development experience.
- Proficiency in one or more OO languages (Java, Python, Kotlin).
- Experience designing and implementing RESTful/GraphQL services (Node.js/TypeScript a plus).
- Experience building data pipelines and data-driven architectures including Airflow.
- Experience with cloud-scale data warehousing (BigQuery) and SQL optimization.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain highly available, robust, and scalable solutions.
- Collaborate with local and partner teams to implement efficient solutions.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test cases, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment procedures.
- Deliver solutions on time and align with rollout timelines.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and ensure security best practices.
