Southwest Public Libraries seeks a Part-time Temporary Public Services Assistant for Westland Area Library in Columbus, OH. The role entails 20 hours per week for nine months, providing high-quality customer service and assisting patrons with library resources and programs.

You will guide users to print/electronic resources, perform interlibrary loan tasks, help with e-content, and support shelving and materials processing while maintaining a welcoming, confidential environment.

Qualificações

• Experience with Microsoft Office suite and Google applications.
• Ability to learn and use library-related technology.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in an environment subject to continuous interruptions.
• Ability to alpha-numerically sort and organize library materials.

Responsabilidades

• Provide customer service to patrons in person, by telephone and by e-mail.
• Guide users in print and electronic resources including online databases, websites, downloadable materials and the online catalog.
• Promote the effective use of information resources through instruction.
• Carry out interlibrary loan process, maintaining necessary records and communication.
• Assist with shelving and processing materials.
• Recommend materials based on patrons’ interests using available tools and resources.
• Troubleshoot minor computer problems with patrons.
• Assist patrons with e-content and library related apps.
• Interact with patrons in a professional, courteous, and tactful manner.
• Maintain confidentiality and uses appropriate judgement in handling information and records.
• Assist patrons of all ages and backgrounds with a complete range of library services.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
