Job summary

DLA Piper is seeking an Outside Counsel Guidelines Attorney to support risk management by reviewing and negotiating engagement terms under Outside Counsel Guidelines, coordinating with General Counsel and internal stakeholders. The role demands meticulous attention to detail and expertise with Intapp Terms, balancing legal risk with client relationships in a hybrid U.S.

office environment. Required JD, 2+ years in a law firm or in-house role, and active license.

Qualifications

• Initial identification of potentially problematic terms and risks.
• Active license in good standing in the practicing state.
• Experience as an Intake/contract attorney or similar role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial review of OCGs and engagement terms with GC coordination.
• Identify terms requiring negotiation and propose modifications.
• Coordinate with Finance, Info Governance, Cyber Security, Data Privacy and HR for feedback.
• Proactively identify emerging risk areas in engagement documents.
• Maintain OCG playbook and tracking systems; push terms to completion.
• Coordinate with Conflicts and New Business Intake on internal processes.
