Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a senior energy leader to define end-to-end power strategy for AWS data centers in the Americas, coordinating with real estate, engineering and planning teams to deliver high-availability, cost-efficient electricity supply.

You will negotiate with utilities, EPCs and regulators to secure medium- and high-voltage infrastructure, align with renewable portfolio goals, and drive complex energy projects to completion across multiple geographies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) required in Engineering/Business or other technical field.
• 7+ years working in utility/energy industry in a commercial/business development or technical role.
• 3+ years of power transaction or contracting experience in US energy markets, negotiating with utilities and contractors.
• 2+ years managing multiple million-dollar power infrastructure contracts with external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive utilities strategy for AWS data centers for AMER regions.
• Manage multiple Utilities, EPC and Owner's Engineers to deliver MV and HV power infrastructure, including negotiations and contracting.
• Develop and execute energy strategies that leverage capital projects to reduce long term energy costs and manage budgets.
• Collaborate with Amazon CFE/RE team to support strategic energy sourcing opportunities.
• Execute electricity supply contracts that create new clean energy capacity on the grid and reduce cost.
• Manage a portfolio of complex energy projects.
• Collaborate with internal teams and utilities on implementation and management of energy projects.
