Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Virginia Arlington is seeking a senior energy leader to define end-to-end power strategy for data centers across the Americas, overseeing generation, transmission, distribution, and backup power while coordinating with utilities and EPCs to deliver scalable energy solutions.

You will drive opportunities with regulated utilities, contract power supply and energy storage initiatives, and guide teams to complete large-scale projects on schedule, enabling AWS capacity

Qualifications

• 7+ years working in utility/energy industry in a commercial/business development or technical role.
• 3+ years of power transaction or contracting experience in US East (PJM & MISO) energy markets, performing financial models and analysis on rates and energy cost, negotiation interconnection agreements and related contracts with utilities and contractors
• 2+ years managing multiple million dollar power infrastructure contracts with external stakeholders to drive projects to completion

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive utilities strategy for AWS data centers for AMER regions.
• Manage multiple Utilities, EPC and Owner's Engineers to deliver MV and HV power infrastructure, including negotiations and contracting.
• Develop and execute energy strategies that leverage capital projects (utility grid connections, high voltage substations, energy storage, etc) to reduce long term energy costs. Manage capital budgets for electrical infrastructure and energy projects.
• Work collaboratively with Amazon CFE/RE team to support the development of strategic energy sourcing opportunities
• Execute electricity supply contracts that create new clean energy capacity on the grid (through utilities), reduce cost, minimize risk and leverage opportunities that benefit Amazon
• Manage a portfolio of complex energy projects
• Collaborate with internal teams and regulated utilities on the implementation and management of energy projects to meet the business timelines.
• Identify and develop innovative cost savings projects (capital and operational) and initiatives related to energy infrastructure and supply.
