Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Project Engineer I in the Energy Storage group to support field coordination across multiple locations. This full-time traveler role requires interaction with staff at all levels while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.

Responsibilities include interpreting plans, managing submittals, RFIs, change orders, quality control, and safety compliance to keep project schedules on track.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management.
• Minimum of two years related construction experience.
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Knowledge of construction law and general business practices.
• Strong teamwork, initiative, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Interpret project plans and specifications for subcontractors and craft workers.
• Implement the pre-construction quality plan.
• Obtain and maintain construction permits and manage expenses.
• Develop and maintain project documents and logs.
• Coordinate subcontractor details and RFIs/Change Orders.
• Mentor field engineers and oversee safety and compliance.
