Job summary

Ingevity's Performance Materials team seeks a hands-on commercial leader to move early-stage battery storage opportunities from concept toward commercialization, partnering with a technical lead and customers.

You will talk to customers, translate their needs into value propositions, shape market strategy, and guide opportunities through Stage Gate, balancing technical readiness with business impact. Occasional travel is expected.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of deep commercial leadership within the battery or energy storage industry.
• Broad techno-economic understanding of different battery technologies and applications.
• Experience taking ideas from concept to customer-facing results.
• Experience with products that have technical differentiation or IP protection.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial side of early-stage growth opportunities.
• Own prioritization of a portfolio of emerging battery materials and technologies.
• Build a simple, clear commercial picture of each opportunity for stakeholders.
• Shape early strategic marketing work by identifying promising segments and applications.
• Work with R&T to align development with customer needs and priorities.
• Guide ideas through Stage Gate with customer feedback and data.
