Job summary

Alabama Power is seeking a leader to drive Energy Services' business development strategy across Alabama, coordinating with Sales, Project Development, and Construction to convert opportunities into contracted work. This role requires travel statewide (approximately 30-40%), and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver customer and business value.

The ideal candidate will bring experience in leading BD efforts, developing energy-conservation opportunities, and reporting at leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; CEM certification required; PM certification preferred; PE license in Alabama preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set statewide business development strategy and operating cadence for energy conservation opportunities in MUSH and commercial/industrial markets.
• Lead and coach directs for customer discovery, qualification, proposal strategy, and opportunity advancement in energy conservation.
• Establish pipeline governance, review cadence, customer engagement expectations, and reporting for leadership visibility.
• Own timely and accurate BD updates and pipeline reporting across Energy Services and stakeholders.
• Coordinate with Account Management, internal partners, external stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to support customer engagement and market growth.
• Ensure proposals and contracts are developed with scope, estimates, schedules, risks, and execution plans ready for approval.
