Job summary
Alabama Power Company – Energy Services seeks a leader to drive statewide business development for energy conservation and ESCO opportunities. The role partners with Sales, Project Development, and Delivery teams to expand customer engagement, shape strategy, and deliver value across commercial, industrial, and public-sector accounts in Alabama.
Travel is statewide (~30-40%), a CEM certification is required, with strong leadership and governance to guide proposals, pricing, and reporting.
Qualifications
- Minimum two years of people leadership experience required.
- Experience leading business development, sales, or customer-facing teams.
- Experience developing energy conservation opportunities and proposals.
- Knowledge of ESCO market and performance contracting concepts.
Responsibilities
- Set statewide business development strategy and operating cadence.
- Lead, coach, and direct customer discovery and qualification.
- Establish pipeline governance and performance reporting.
- Own timely updates and reporting across stakeholders.
- Prioritize opportunities based on value, feasibility, and risk.
- Coordinate with sales, internal partners, and cross-functional teams.
- Ensure proposals and contracts are fully developed and ready for approval.
- Represent Energy Services in stakeholder discussions on strategy and growth.
