Job summary

Cupertino Electric, Inc. (CEI) is seeking a Safety Specialist - Energy to support the Project Team in creating an Incident and Injury Free Culture (IIFC).

You will help ensure compliance with safety regulations and assist leadership in developing a strong Project Safety Roadmap on assigned projects. You will participate in daily field rounds, coaching, orientations, basic safety training, and incident investigations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• OSHA 30 Construction required. CPR/FA Certified (Trainer Preferred). STS and STSC certification preferred, along with other safety certifications desired.
• 0-2 years of construction safety experience (electrical safety experience preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist in evaluation of the effectiveness of safety programs through daily field walks and log observations.
• Support project-specific corrective action plans to address safety issues.
• Provide feedback to Safety leadership on improvement opportunities and recognition.
• Coach employees exhibiting unsafe behaviors and recognize safe practices.
• Assist with site-specific safety orientations for new employees.
• Assist with basic safety training and testing (HazCom, Fall Protection, Lockout/Tag-out).
• Support incident investigations and assist in injury/illness case facilitation.
• Raise potential compliance risks to Safety leadership.
• Attend assigned safety meetings daily and evaluate participation and adherence to the program elements.
