Job summary

M.C. Dean, Inc. seeks an Energy Marshal to lead safety-focused electrical operations for large-scale MEP systems in mission-critical facilities. The role emphasizes energy isolation, LOTO, risk assessment, and on-site supervision during commissioning and energization activities.

You will coordinate with CX leads, review safety plans, and ensure compliant testing and energization procedures while maintaining hands-on leadership and a culture of safety across the project site.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED with 10+ years of applicable experience in mission critical facilities and electrical infrastructures
• Knowledge of MV (>1000V) and LV (<1000V) power distribution SOPs
• Ability to isolate energy sources and perform absence of voltage verifications
• NFPA 70E knowledge and certification
• Hands-on experience with startups, LOTO, and voltage verification
• Leadership experience in electrical field, preferably commissioning
• Ability to make decisions under pressure with tight schedules
• Interpretation of blueprints, electrical one-lines, and construction drawings

Responsibilities

• Manage energy isolation program on site for MEP energy
• Ensure safe working conditions by reviewing procedures, JHAs, and permits
• Coordinate energizations/de-energizations with stakeholders
• Lead pre-energization and energization kick-off meetings
• Understand commissioning plans related to energization of equipment
• Advance electrical safety improvements and implement site Electrical Safety Plan
• Develop risk assessments for energized work environments
• Provide field presence during major commissioning activities
• Coordinate with CX Lead on daily commissioning operations
• Attend safety inspections, audits, and LOTO coordination with stakeholders
• Train staff on energy isolation procedures and LOTO
• Participate in daily commissioning and weekly project meetings
• Review and approve LOTO permits
• Lead safety briefings with CX team/vendors
• Ensure PPE and equipment readiness
