Job summary

Heartline Staffing is recruiting a Construction Manager for a full-time, onsite role in New York. You will oversee all facets of major energy retrofit construction projects and provide cost/constructability input during design and bidding phases.

The candidate will coordinate subcontractors, manage schedules and ensure safety and quality standards across the Queens College project and other sites as needed.

• Ability to identify, correct and avoid potential schedule, budget or quality issues REQUIRED.
• Ability to make decisions while balancing cost implications and avoiding disruptions to work or customer operations REQUIRED.
• Ability to lead others in the construction process REQUIRED.

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple activities/projects REQUIRED.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills REQUIRED.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all facets of major energy retrofit construction projects.
• Provide cost and constructability input during the design phase.
• Coordinate the bid process including pre-bid walkthroughs.
• Prepare and administer subcontract agreements.
• Coordinate the submittal process.
• Schedule, supervise and coordinate subcontractor activities.
• Direct construction meetings between subcontractors, Willdan and the owner.
• Ensure construction progresses according to schedule.
• Prepare detailed three-week construction schedules.
• Update overall construction schedule monthly.
• Update three-week schedule weekly.
• Monitor construction schedules against contract completion dates.
• Ensure construction specifications are followed.
• Act as liaison between subcontractors and engineers.
• Establish quality control procedures.
• Establish safety practices.
• Provide assignments and mentorship to project staff.
• Manage project cost control and forecasting systems.
• Provide monthly cost vs. budget reports to project stakeholders.
• Maintain construction management software.
