Job summary

Heartline Staffing is recruiting for a Construction Manager for energy retrofit projects in New York City. This full-time, on-site role oversees major retrofit initiatives, coordinating design input, subcontractors, scheduling, and project documentation.

You will manage cost, quality, safety, and schedule, lead meetings with subcontractors and ownership representatives, and maintain detailed construction schedules and CM systems. Immediate project assignment in Queens, NY.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; 6+ years of professional experience REQUIRED.
• Knowledge of the construction process REQUIRED.
• Experience with field operations and construction means and methods REQUIRED.
• Ability to identify, correct, and avoid potential schedule, budget, and quality issues REQUIRED.
• Ability to make project decisions while considering cost, schedule, and impact to customer operations REQUIRED.

Responsibilities

• Provide cost and constructability input during project design.
• Coordinate the bid process, including pre-bid walkthroughs.
• Prepare and administer subcontract agreements.
• Coordinate the project submittal process.
• Schedule, supervise, and coordinate subcontractor activities.
• Direct construction meetings involving subcontractors, project teams, and ownership representatives.
• Maintain detailed three-week construction schedules and support updates to the overall project schedule.
• Monitor construction progress against contractual completion dates.
• Ensure construction specifications and project requirements are followed.
• Establish and maintain quality-control procedures and safety practices.
• Provide assignments, direction, and mentorship to project staff.
• Manage project cost-control and forecasting systems.
• Prepare monthly cost-versus-budget reports for project stakeholders.
