Job summary

Midcoast Maine Community Action seeks an Energy Programs Specialist to assist Sagadahoc and Lincoln County clients with energy and housing program applications. You will conduct intake, eligibility assessments, and coordinate with clients and partners to gather documents and complete submissions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of experience in a high-volume office setting required.
• 6 months of experience working with low-income populations preferred.
• Ability to maintain client, program, and agency confidentiality.
• Strong computer and office technology skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake and eligibility assessments over the phone, in-person, and at outreach events to determine program eligibility.
• Review applications in the online portal for completeness and contact clients to obtain missing documents.
• Process applications in the database ensuring eligibility per program guidelines.
• Communicate with clients via email, phone, and walk-in traffic to meet needs promptly.
• Provide follow-up and assistance to ensure successful submission of applications.
• Schedule appointments for energy and housing programs for client access.
• File documents and organize client files for efficient review by certifiers.
• Perform data entry in software systems to keep records up to date.
• Provide information, referrals, and resources when outside scope of assistance.
• Attend training sessions and staff meetings to stay current with guidance.
