Job summary

Arapahoe County government is seeking an Energy Program Manager to lead the energy program with emphasis on environmental stewardship, including oil and gas, solar, wind, and storage. The role supervises staff and coordinates across departments to advance energy policy and land‑use planning.

The position requires a relevant Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of experience. A Master’s degree is preferred. Hybrid work schedule with some remote days is available; pre-employment checks apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Planning, Geography, Environmental Planning, Petroleum Engineering, Geology, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• At least six (6) years of relevant work experience including solar and/or oil & gas planning, project management, reviews, or land use entitlements.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Leads and supports the energy team with a collaborative, growth‑oriented management approach.
• Performs full supervisory duties including hiring, training, coaching, and performance management.
• Sets priorities and allocates staff workload to meet program goals.
• Guides IT-related energy program projects and change initiatives.
• Oversees energy program across oil & gas, wind, solar, geothermal, distribution, and storage.
• Represents the County in policy discussions and regional coordination.
