Octopus Energy Group in San Francisco is seeking a generalist energy strategy professional to join our North America Flexibility-as-a-Service team. You’ll cycle through business development, wholesale market analysis, energy policy, and program delivery across a fast-paced work week.

You’ll draft regulatory comments, shape dispatch strategies, and build decks for proposals while turning ambiguity into clear analysis and actionable recommendations. A cross-functional, impact-driven role.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of energy sector experience or related field.
• Strong quantitative and data analysis abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop commercial opportunities with business development and RFP responses to utilities and government clients.
• Support program delivery, streamline processes, and help get new projects off the ground.
• Analyze wholesale and retail energy markets to inform dispatch strategies and program design.
• Support regulatory engagement by tracking proceedings and drafting comments.
• Turn messy problems into clear analysis, sharp recommendations, and actionable decks.
• Build models, memos, and materials that move deals, programs, or policy positions forward.
• Jump into the moment's needs with flexibility and cross-functional collaboration.
