Job summary

Haley & Aldrich is seeking an experienced Senior Client Development Manager, Energy to grow our energy-sector client base, including electric and gas utilities, independent power producers, and cooperatives. You will lead capture planning, pursue strategies, and deepen client relationships across the U.S.

energy market. Work with Market Leader, client managers, and technical leaders to tailor value propositions, manage proposals, and ensure compliant, high-quality responses.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years in business development, client development, capture, or consultative sales.
• Minimum 5 years selling environmental/civil engineering services to energy sector clients.
• Experience with CRM systems and pipeline management.
• Ability to travel for client meetings and events.
• Strong proposal writing and editing skills to create client-focused content.
• Analytical, organized, and capable of coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of electric utilities, regulatory drivers, and capital programs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement capture plans for priority energy pursuits.
• Build and maintain a qualified pipeline with utilities and energy developers.
• Research market drivers, policy trends, and competitive landscape.
• Provide insights on client needs, market dynamics, and positioning.
• Maintain high-trust relationships with client account teams and align pursuits with value propositions.
• Facilitate pursuit decisions with Market Leader and Legal teams.
• Advise on contractual arrangements, pricing structures, and risk management.
• Oversee proposals, budgets, and resource mobilization for pursuits.
• Ensure use of pre-approved responses for prequalification packages.
• Incorporate lessons learned to improve win strategies and outcomes.
• Collaborate with business development leaders to support cross-selling.
• Track pipeline progress using CRM and forecast opportunities.
• Ensure health and safety protocols in sales leadership.
