Job summary

Haley & Aldrich seeks an Energy Market Senior Client Development Manager to lead sales efforts for energy clients, shaping capture plans and strategies. You’ll partner with Market Leader, client managers, and proposal teams to deepen relationships and identify needs aligned with Haley & Aldrich’s capabilities.

You’ll travel as needed and work in a hybrid role with several in-office days across U.S. locations. Salary ranges reflect nationwide scope and bonus eligibility.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in business development, client development, capture, account management, or consultative sales.
• 5+ years selling environmental, geotechnical, civil engineering, or AEC services to energy sector clients; experience with utilities.
• Knowledge of electric utilities and their business ecosystem, including regulatory drivers and procurement practices.
• Strong proposal writing and editing skills; turning technical info into client-focused content.
• Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce or Deltek) including pipeline management and forecasting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement capture plans for priority pursuits in the Energy Market.
• Build and maintain a qualified pipeline with electric and gas utilities, IPPs, cooperatives, and energy firms.
• Research market drivers and policy trends affecting regulated utilities and energy projects.
• Provide insights on client needs, market dynamics, and competitive positioning.
• Maintain high-trust relationships with client account teams and align pursuits with client value propositions.
• Lead structured No/Go decision processes with Market Leader and Legal.
• Coordinate proposals, budgets, and resource mobilization for pursuits (competitive and sole source).
• Ensure use of pre-approved responses for prequalification packages.
