Job summary

NYS Weatherization Directors Association (NYSWDA) is seeking a knowledgeable, full-time Energy Efficiency Trainer to provide training in a lab and classroom setting at its Energy Efficiency Training Center in East Syracuse, NY. This role offers an opportunity to advance your career while positively impacting the building science industry in New York State.

Responsibilities include delivering classroom and hands-on lab instruction to adult learners in the home performance and HVAC fields,

Qualifications

Broad background in residential and/or commercial construction or experience in building science and/or HVAC.
Valid driver’s license.
BPI certifications are a plus.
Training experience is a plus, but NYSWDA will provide the necessary equipment and support.

Responsibilities

Deliver classroom and hands-on lab instruction to adult learners in the home performance and HVAC fields.
Teach field testing procedures and equipment use.
Develop and update curriculum, lesson plans, and training materials.
Proctor written and field BPI certification exams.
Travel occasionally to deliver regional trainings and participate in industry conferences.
Help individuals passionate about building science advance their careers.
