Job summary

Solar One is seeking an Instructor to deliver workforce training in energy efficiency, renewables, construction, and building trades. The role involves hands-on teaching in classrooms and labs, plus offsite sessions at partner locations across New York City and parts of New Jersey.

The Instructor will initially co-teach and eventually lead programs for adults, traveling as needed and reporting to the Manager of Green Workforce Training.

Qualifications

• At least three years of field and/or teaching experience in two or more listed areas.
• Ability to learn new curriculum independently and stay current with tech trends.
• Strong knowledge of the broader clean energy sector and related trades.
• Industry certifications (BPI, NABCEP, LEED) are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver training programs in green construction, building operations, solar PV, and HVAC.
• Serve as primary instructor for off-site programs and travel within NY/NJ when needed.
• Track attendance, grades, and feedback in Salesforce and maintain records.
• Adapt to changing schedules and provide substitute coverage when required.
