Job summary

Franklin Energy is seeking a field-based energy advisor to provide energy efficiency services to homeowners, landlords and utility customers. You will advise on modifications to electric and gas systems and coordinate program delivery, balancing field work (3 days) with office time (2 days) per week.

The role includes direct installation, client engagement, and support for rebate applications, with a focus on driving energy savings and program adoption across assigned territories.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of experience in the electric or natural gas utility industry, facilities management, HVAC design or sales, commercial and industrial lighting, energy management, or related experience.
• Previous experience managing staff performing proactive customer outreach activities.
• 2–3 years of experience in energy efficiency and/or energy modeling.
• Previous customer service, sales, or marketing experience.

Responsibilities

• Direct installation of energy saving products as directed by program management.
• Adhering to the safety requirements of the organization and the utility client.
• Promote the energy efficiency program to customers, trade allies and program stakeholders within your assigned territory.
• Understand and implement the company’s Sales Process.
• Make outbound calls to existing customers to meet assigned energy saving targets.
• Initiate new business with new customers through business-to-business efforts.
• Manage field time effectively with customer, Trade Ally and program stakeholder visits.
• Develop and deliver presentations to create awareness about the program.
• Respond to customer inquiries and concerns by phone, electronically or in person to move projects towards completion.
