Kids for the Future in Piketon, OH is seeking an Energy Crew Leader to supervise weatherization and construction projects on site, ensuring safety, quality, and program compliance. You'll manage crew members, perform diagnostic testing, and oversee daily field operations.
The role requires a High School Diploma, strong leadership, reliable transportation, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. EPA RRP certification must be obtained within 12 months of employment.
The Energy Crew Leader is responsible for performing weatherization retrofit measures and construction-related services on approved jobs in accordance with program standards while supervising assigned crew members. This role ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all Energy & Weatherization program requirements. The Energy Crew Leader provides on-site leadership, oversees daily operations, maintains accurate documentation, and ensures proper use and care of agency vehicles, tools, and materials.
Perform weatherization retrofits on approved jobs in compliance with program standards and specifications.
Complete general construction, repair, remodeling, or new construction work as assigned.
Supervise assigned crew members on weatherization and construction projects, ensuring productivity, safety, and quality workmanship.
Provide clear direction, guidance, and oversight to crew members during field operations.
Perform and/or assist with diagnostic testing in accordance with program standards.
Requisition inventoried materials from the warehouse following established procedures.
Ensure proper use, tracking, and maintenance of all assigned tools, equipment, and materials; report damage or loss promptly.
Maintain a clean, safe, and tobacco‑free worksite and agency vehicle at all times.
Conduct weekly vehicle inspections and maintain accurate vehicle mileage logs.
Submit accurate daily activity reports, invoices, and required documentation with timecards to the Energy Programs Coordinator.
Perform general warehousing activities including loading/unloading vehicles, sorting, stocking materials, and inventory support.
Perform general workshop activities including equipment and vehicle maintenance as assigned.
Operate box trucks and other assigned agency vehicles safely and responsibly.
Communicate professionally and courteously with clients, coworkers, supervisors, and partner agencies.
Work independently with minimal supervision while meeting productivity and safety expectations.
Wear and provide appropriate clothing for working in all weather conditions.
Participate in required trainings and obtain necessary certifications as assigned.
Perform all other duties as directed by the Energy Programs Coordinator.
Participate in committee assignments as assigned.
Maintain working knowledge of CAC programs and services to support referrals and collaboration.
Adhere to all CAC policies, safety procedures, and vehicle use requirements.
Remain insurable under agency insurance policies.
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Reliable transportation and proof of automobile insurance

Demonstrated ability to supervise, lead, and support crew members in a field-based environment.
EPA Lead Renovation, Repair, and Painting (RRP) Certification (required within twelve (12) months of employment)
Willingness to obtain all required HWAP weatherization certifications for a Crew Leader position
Experience or training in construction trades, home weatherization, or related fields
This position operates primarily in field environments. Duties require working outdoors in all types of weather, on roofs and ladders, and in crawlspaces and attics. Travel may be required for up to a week at a time for trainings or projects. Physical demands include lifting, climbing, bending, and prolonged standing. Work is physically demanding and safety-sensitive.
