Description

The Energy Crew Member performs weatherization and construction-related work to improve energy efficiency, safety, and living conditions for clients served through Community Services programs. This role completes retrofit measures, home repairs, and general construction tasks in accordance with program standards and assigned project scopes.


The Energy Crew Member works under the direction of the Energy Programs Coordinator and collaborates with team members to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all applicable guidelines. This position requires physical endurance, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.


Weatherization & Construction Services

  • Perform weatherization retrofit measures in compliance with program standards.
  • Complete general construction, repair, remodel, and maintenance work as assigned.
  • Assist with and perform diagnostic testing as required by program guidelines.
  • Requisition materials and supplies from the warehouse following established procedures.
  • Submit daily invoices and documentation to the Energy Programs Coordinator.
  • Maintain and track assigned tools and equipment, including:
    • Ensuring proper use and care
    • Reporting any damage or loss
  • Conduct weekly vehicle inspections.
  • Maintain accurate vehicle mileage logs.
  • Perform general warehouse duties, including:
    • Loading and unloading materials
    • Sorting and stocking supplies
  • Assist with workshop activities, including:
    • Equipment maintenance
    • Vehicle maintenance
  • Operate agency vehicles, including box trucks, as assigned.
  • Communicate professionally and courteously with:
    • Clients
    • Team members
    • Supervisors
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity.
  • Learn and safely use various tools, equipment, and weatherization techniques.
  • Wear appropriate clothing and protective gear for all weather conditions.
  • Attend required trainings and certifications.
  • Perform all additional duties as assigned by the Crew Leader or Energy Programs Coordinator.

Agency Service & Compliance

  • Participate in committee assignments as needed.
  • Maintain general knowledge of CAC programs and services.
  • Adhere to all agency policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Maintain insurability under agency policy.

Education


  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Job-Related Experience

Licenses, Certifications, and Accreditations

  • Must obtain EPA Lead RRP Certification within 12 months of hire.
  • Must obtain all required HWAP weatherization certifications for the crew member role.

Working Conditions
