Job summary

Mainsail Lodging & Development is seeking a motivated Line Cook to support the kitchen across all Food & Beverage outlets. You will contribute to daily prep, cooking, and plating under chefs' guidance while maintaining Marriott standards within the franchise scope.

Ideal candidates bring at least two years of kitchen experience, strong teamwork, and the ability to work under pressure. ServSafe certification is preferred or obtainable during employment. Spartanburg location.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years' experience in a restaurant or hotel kitchen.
• Knowledge of recipes, cuisines, and operating kitchen equipment.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to listen and follow tasks.
• Experience working collaboratively on a team.
• Ownership in all work performed.
• ServSafe certification or ability to obtain/renew certificate.
• Proven ability to make great food.
• Organizational skills; maintain a neat and tidy station.
• Ability to work cleanly, effectively, and efficiently under pressure.
• Highschool diploma or higher required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vegetables and sauces; minor butchery of proteins.
• Line cook during meal periods under supervision of chefs.
• Prepare ingredients for regular menu and specials.
• Plate dishes according to chef's specifications.
• Monitor inventory and inform chef when items need reordering.
• Keep station organized, stocked, and clean; rotate prep as needed.
• Assist with storage areas and coolers during shifts.
• Help fellow cooks during busy service periods.
• Maintain a clean kitchen and assist in dishwashing.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
