Job summary

Indianapolis EMS is seeking a Desktop Support Specialist to ensure secure, efficient operation of endpoint devices including PCs, scanners, and printers. You will document, image, and deploy endpoints, resolve end-user incidents, and contribute to project deadlines while adhering to SOPs and organizational policies.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 3 years of related experience in a hospital or large institution data processing may be accepted in lieu of education.
• Relevant certifications/training in areas of responsibility (e.g. A+/Net+, MCSE/MCSA, CNE, PMI/PMP, etc.)
• Valid Indiana driver’s license meeting policy requirements
• Strong customer service and teamwork abilities

Responsibilities

• Proactively contributes to IEMS's mission: Advocate, Care, Teach and Serve with emphasis on Marion County’s vulnerable population
• Maintains and resolves issues for all endpoint devices
• Investigates and resolves endpoint issues; plan or recommend system changes when needed
• Employs latest tech resources to streamline troubleshooting
• Acts as a technical resource for peers and assists in resolving issues
• Creates and maintains endpoint-related knowledge documentation
• Serves as primary technical resource for endpoint hardware/software moves/adds/changes
• Observes ITIL framework and best practices for incident handling and escalation
• Communicates status of problems and resolutions to users
• Monitors service orders to ensure timely resolution with quality
• Supports after-hours on-call rotation for 7x24 operations
• Performs collaboration with other IS/IT units when implementing new applications or hardware
• Maintains HIPAA/FERPA privacy posture and confidentiality of patient information
