Job summary

Ochsner in Kenner, LA is seeking a Surgical Technologist to ensure availability of equipment and supplies for endoscopy and surgical procedures, and to scrub for operations under RN supervision. You will organize supplies and assist in patient care across age groups.

The role requires graduation from an accredited surgical technologist program or equivalent experience, BLS certification, and flexibility to work varied hours.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduation from an accredited surgical technologist program or 5 years of surgical tech experience.
• Certifications: BLS required; surgical technology certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care duties.
• Organizes activities and supplies per surgery schedule.
• Cares for patients with supervision of the staff nurse.
• Communicates patient care needs to family and co-workers.
• Maintains clinical knowledge, skills and credentials.
• Adapts to rapid changes in the department due to census and acuity.
• Performs other related duties as required.
