Job summary

Ochsner Health seeks a Surgical Technologist to ensure equipment and supplies for procedures are ready and accessible. You will scrub for surgeries and support the RN and team with patient care, while maintaining sterile technique and safety standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of a Surgical Technology program, with BLS certification preferred. Strong communication and adaptability are essential in a dynamic operating room environment.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent and graduation from an approved Surgical Technology program.
• Must be proficient with computer and keyboard; comfortable with Windows-style applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential to interact with team members, patients and families.
• Knowledge of sterile and aseptic techniques and understanding of anatomy and surgery procedures is required.

Responsibilities

• Assure availability of equipment and supplies for surgical procedures.
• Scrub for surgical procedures competently with the RN and operating team.
• Perform duties as assigned by the RN and department leadership.
• Maintain current clinical knowledge, skills and credentials relevant to surgical technology.
• Adapt to changes in department workflow and patient census.
