Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and graduate from an accepted course in surgical technology.
• 1 year of experience in a similar medical setting.
• BLS certification required by American Heart Association.
• Preferred – Certification in Surgical Technology.

Responsibilities

• Adapts behavior to patient population with privacy and clear communication.
• Organizes activities and supplies based on surgery schedule and daily needs of the department.
• Cares for patients under supervision of the staff nurse and provides related services.
• Communicates information about patient care needs to patients, families and coworkers.
• Maintains clinical knowledge, skills, and credentials; adapts to department changes.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
