Description

GI Alliance is seeking an experienced Endoscopy Technician.

Position purpose

The purpose of this position is to assist the endoscopy team during endoscopy procedures. The technician is responsible for the provision of care to meet identified patient outcomes and to achieve the goals of the facility.

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks

• Delivers safe patient care as directed by the Registered Nurse and according to surgery center policy and procedure.
• Assists physicians with procedures efficiently and effectively.
• Prepares for procedures and anticipates physicians' needs during procedures.
• Reports patient outcomes to the Registered Nurse in a timely manner.
• Responds appropriately to emergency situations, including performing CPR if necessary.
• Provides patient and family education as identified in the care plan.
• Ensures proper cleaning and maintenance of endoscopy equipment.
• Manages inventory, supplies, and rental equipment, ensuring safety checks and proper storage.
• Processes instruments and trays using proper techniques, maintaining records and aseptic procedures.
• Follows safety standards, including bloodborne pathogen precautions and proper PPE use.
• Performs hand hygiene and containment/disinfection procedures as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two years experience in endoscopy preferred.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Excellent communication skills, proficiency with computers, ability to multitask, and a strong ethical sense.
