Job summary

Advocate Health Care is seeking an Endoscopy Technician for the Gastrointestinal Services department. This part-time position requires staggered start times and willingness to cover weekend and holiday call, plus several weeknights per month. High school education, 1 year related experience, and CPR are required; CNA is highly desirable.

Salary ranges per hour from $20.80 to $31.20. The role includes assisting with patient transport, positioning, and pre/post-procedure care under supervision,

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year related experience.
• Patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides efficient patient transport to, within and from the unit.
• Assist with positioning of patients and basic patient care during procedures.
• Endoscopy Technician ensures patient safety during electrocautery procedures and proper functioning of equipment.
• Lab specimens are handled and transported to/from Lab.
• Assist with procedures under the guidance of the RN.
• Set up rooms/equipment for procedures and maintain workflow.
• Communicate information to RN/Charge Nurse/Manager/Physician.
• Assist in pre/post-procedure care under RN guidance.
