Job summary

Advocate Health Care is seeking an Endoscopy Technician for the Gastrointestinal Services department. This part-time role supports the patient continuum of care, assists with procedures, and ensures safe, efficient operation of endoscopy rooms.

Responsibilities include patient transport, room setup, decontamination of equipment per SGNA standards, and collaboration with RNs and physicians. Candidates should have a high school diploma, CPR certification, and 1 year of related experience.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent; minimum 1 year related experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Good computer keyboard skills and basic computer literacy.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work rotating shifts and lift up to 35 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe patient transport and assist with positioning during procedures.
• Assist with procedures under the guidance of a RN.
• Set up rooms and equipment for patient procedures and maintain turnaround time.
• Ensure endoscopes are cleaned and decontaminated per SGNA standards.
• Handle lab specimens and transport to the lab.
• Communicate pertinent information to RN/Charge Nurse/Manager/Physician.
• Support patient pre- and post-procedure care as directed by RN.
• Monitor safety during electrocautery and ensure proper grounding.
