Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time registered nurse at Advocate South Suburban Hospital – Gastrointestinal Services. The role features 20 hours per week with 8-hour shifts, Monday–Friday, starting as early as 5:30 am, and requires ACLS and BLS.

Prior experience in Critical Care, Telemetry, or outpatient procedures is preferred. Responsibilities include patient preparation and recovery for endoscopy and minor procedures, maintaining patient safety, accurate EHR documentation, and

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active RN license with privileges to practice where services are provided.
• ACLS and BLS required; additional certifications may be required by specialty.
• Typically requires 1 year of experience in clinical nursing.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes.
• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, and evaluate care with family involvement.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, and collaborates with the care team.
• Upholds a culture of safety and accurate, timely documentation in the EHR.
• Administers medications/treatments per clinical protocols as needed.
• Demonstrates effective communication and supports interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Pursues ongoing professional development and maintains required certifications.
• Adheres to ANA Code of Ethics and ethical patient care standards.
• Delegates appropriately to RNs, LPNs, and support staff.
• May float to other units within the service area as needed.
