Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the Digestive Health Center’s endoscopy team. You will assist with patient care, prep instruments, and reprocess endoscopes, while ensuring sterile practice and efficient room turnover.

The role offers multiple shifts (8-, 9-, 10-hour) to accommodate schedules and patient needs, with opportunities for professional growth within our multisite health system.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or surgical technology credential required.
• CER (Certified Endoscope Reprocessor) within 18 months.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist in organization and coordination of supplies and equipment.
• Collect data on assigned patients as directed by the RN.
• Document accurately in patient records as directed by unit standards.
• Maintain asepsis and sterile technique throughout procedures.
• Assist providers with procedures and treatments.
• Reprocess endoscopes and assist in cleaning/sterilization of instruments.
• Prepare and stock exam and procedure rooms.
• Obtain specimens and transport per policy.
• Serve as a resource for department equipment.
