Job summary

Washington Outpatient Surgery Center in Fremont, CA seeks an Endoscopy RN to provide direct patient care in the perioperative setting, from telephone pre-op evaluation to post-op follow-up. You will collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and staff to ensure safe, high-quality care.

Requirements include an ADN or higher in nursing, California RN license, and current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications. ASC/GI/Endoscopy experience preferred; EPIC EMR experience a plus.

Qualifications

• Associates level degree from an accredited school of nursing required; Bachelor's level preferred
• Active RN California License
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS Certification

Responsibilities

• Participate as a team member in support of the perioperative process
• Perform pre-op evaluation by phone and assist in admissions
• Provide pre-op instructions and answer questions
• Administer medications and provide safe, individualized care
• Communicate status with team, physicians, and patient family
• Develop a perioperative plan of care
• Ensure proper techniques per standards of practice
• Maintain cleanliness of preoperative and postoperative areas
• Obtain lab tests and report abnormal values per policy
• Explain perioperative plan to patient and family
• Assess patient upon arrival to recovery and discharge
• Conduct postoperative telephone follow-up
