Job summary

SCA Health is hiring an RN for Endoscopy to support perioperative care in our GI/OR environment. You will develop individualized care plans, monitor anesthesia recovery, and ensure equipment readiness and patient safety.

Qualifications include graduation from an accredited nursing program, GI/OR/medical-surgical experience, and current state licensure. BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are expected within stated timelines.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• One year of GI, OR and /or medical / surgical nursing experience preferred.
• Current state nursing licensure to practice in good standings.
• Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS) within 90 days of employment.
• Successful completion of Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of employment.
• Successful completion of Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) if pediatric care is included in the facility scope of services within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Develop an individualized perioperative patient plan of care by implementing safety protocols.
• Protect the patient from injury from objects, chemicals, electrical, mechanical, and thermal sources.
• Demonstrate safe operation of equipment and report unsafe situations.
• Adhere to universal precautions and communicate patient status throughout care continuum.
• Administer medications safely using the eight rights of administration.
• Maintain aseptic technique and ensure instruments are properly cared for.
• Manage patient recovery from anesthesia including moderate sedation and MONA care.
• Assess patient status at intervals and provide appropriate monitoring per policy.
• Ensure scopes are prepared for use and that instruments are kept in working order.
