Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking an Operating Room Assistant for the Endoscopy unit at Blake 4 in Boston. The role supports the OR team, caring for patients, maintaining safety standards, and assisting with transfers and supplies.

The schedule is 40 hours on days, with no night shifts and alternating weekends/holidays. Responsibilities include coordinating patient flow, identifying patients, orienting guests, and ensuring proper procedures and equipment are available for procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required
• 0-1 year Medical Office/Hospital experience preferred
• Operating Room experience 0-1 year preferred

Responsibilities

• Responsible for ensuring excellent patient care, maintaining safety standards, and providing medical assistance in the operating room.
• Promotes a patient/family focused care approach through cordial greeting and interactions with patients, families and hospital personnel.
• Provides hospital/unit orientation information for guests, patients and families.
• Demonstrates awareness of hospital systems and procedures, locations of departments, procedure areas and other patient services.
• Refers patients, families and others to appropriate resources.
• Independently transports and assists in patient transfers.
• Properly identifies patients using 2 approved identifiers.
• Ensures safety and support in patient transfers (bedrails, coverings).
• Is aware of special precautions in transferring patients with precautions.
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Complies with all policies and standards
