Job summary

Valley Health System seeks a Patient Service Representative to be the first point of contact for patients in the physicians’ network and to provide excellent service while verifying demographics and insurance information.

You will schedule outpatient appointments, assist with referrals, collect payments, answer calls, and support the ambulatory care team with accuracy and confidentiality in Epic.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• Strong computer, customer service and communication skills required.
• Ability to prioritize work.
• Ability to handle confidential information and sensitive situations required.
• Interpersonal skills to work with diverse people within and outside organization required.

Responsibilities

• Schedules outpatient appointments and handles referrals following clinic guidelines.
• Greets patients and provides excellent front desk reception in a courteous manner.
• Obtains demographic and financial information for registration and billing in Epic.
• Processes payments and maintains accurate cash handling and receipts.
• Answers phones promptly with a professional, helpful greeting and takes messages as needed.
• Maintains patient information and handles health information with confidentiality and compliance.
