Job summary

Northwestern Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant to join the Endocrinology department in Chicago. This APP will see general endo and diabetes patients with a Monday–Friday 8-hour shift schedule and no weekends or holidays.

The role emphasizes collaboration with a treating team, patient education, and ongoing quality improvement. Applicants must hold a Master’s degree (nursing or PA), valid Illinois RN and APRN licenses, and BLS certification;

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited NP program or an accredited PA program.
• Current Illinois RN license and APRN license; national APRN certification as approved by Illinois Board.
• Privileged and credentialed through Northwestern Medicine MSO.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive appraisals of patients' health status and perform physical examinations in endocrinology.
• Provide direct clinical care to patients with diabetes and general endocrine conditions.
• Prescribe medications and therapies and interpret labs and tests.
• Educate patients and families, document care in medical records, and refer to other disciplines when needed.
• Participate in quality improvement and research activities within the department.
