Job summary

Northwestern Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant to work in our Endocrinology department, seeing general endo and diabetes patients. Schedule: Mon. - Fri. 8-hour shifts. No weekends or holidays. No Call.

Essential duties include comprehensive health assessments, patient care, prescribing and order interpretation, and patient education. A strong emphasis on teaching, research and quality improvement is noted.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited program for nursing or physician assistant.
• Current Illinois RN license plus APRN license or PA licensure in Illinois.
• Board certification/credentialing through Northwestern Medicine MSO.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and apply clinical expertise in endocrinology.
• Prescribe or order medications and tests within privileges; coordinate care.
• Educate patients and families; participate in quality improvement and teaching.
• Collaborate with physicians and other health professionals; mentor students.
