Job summary

General Dynamics IT seeks a Principal End User Experience / Desktop Automation Engineer to own automation for enterprise desktop environments and drive end-user performance improvements through data‑driven insights and tooling integration. The role emphasizes scripting, analytics, and Splunk-driven observability across Windows endpoints.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 8+ years of endpoint/desktop engineering or end-user experience roles.
• Strong scripting experience (PowerShell, SQL, etc.).
• Experience with Windows endpoint environments at scale.
• Experience querying data with SQL/SQLite.
• Experience building automation for operational efficiency.
• Familiarity with endpoint analytics and observability tooling.
• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph and US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automation solutions for endpoint management and workflows.
• Administer and support enterprise desktop environments (Windows preferred).
• Create and maintain SQL queries and data sets for endpoint performance analysis.
• Use analytics to identify trends and improve desktop health and UX.
• Utilize Splunk dashboards, searches, and alerts for KPIs.
• Integrate SCCM, Intune, 1E, Tanium with analytics platforms.
• Automate remediation actions based on data-driven thresholds.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, operations, and service desk teams.
• Build dashboards and reports for leadership and operations.
• Document automation workflows, scripts, and analytics models.
