Job summary

Franklin Industries Co. is seeking a Sales and Logistics Coordinator to align T-Post sales with production and shipping for Farm and Highway finishing.

You will process inquiries, enter orders in Sage 100, and provide customers with availability, status, and lead times while coordinating with Sales, Farm, Highway, and carriers. You will manage outbound transportation, obtain freight quotes, book truckload/LTL shipments, and handle Bills of Lading and shipping documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in customer service, sales support, logistics, transportation, manufacturing, or a related function.
• Strong organizational and scheduling skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple orders, shipments and priorities simultaneously.
• Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to enter and retrieve information from ERP systems.
• Ability to work effectively with customers, carriers, production personnel, and leadership.
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary contact for T-Post customer inquiries and orders.
• Enter customer orders accurately into Sage 100 and company systems.
• Prepare and communicate T-Post pricing per pricing authority.
• Provide customers with product availability, order status, lead-time, and shipping information.
• Coordinate customer requirements with Sales, Farm, Highway, and operations.
• Maintain accurate customer account and order information.
• Respond to questions and escalate pricing, quality, contractual, or service issues when needed.
• Communicate order changes to affected departments.
• Support existing customer relationships through timely communication.
• Assist VP of Sales & Marketing with T-Post sales activities as required.
• Review open Farm and Highway orders and anticipated shipping requirements.
• Coordinate with Farm and Highway leadership regarding product availability and completion dates.
• Enter and distribute shipping instructions and order information.
• Monitor orders from entry through production and shipment.
• Verify material availability before scheduling shipments.
• Communicate changes in production readiness affecting transportation.
• Coordinate customer pickup orders and notify customers when material is available.
• Maintain awareness of finished-goods inventory and open customer requirements.
• Escalate conflicts between requirements, material availability, production schedules, and transportation.
• Coordinate outbound transportation for finished Farm and Highway products.
• Obtain freight quotes and identify transportation options.
• Book and schedule truckload and LTL carriers.
• Negotiate freight rates within authority.
• Coordinate pickup dates with carriers and shipping personnel.
• Issue truck confirmations and provide information to departments and carriers.
• Monitor pickups and address delays.
• Maintain communication with carriers regarding status.
• Identify and qualify potential freight carriers.
• Maintain carrier contact and rate information.
• Coordinate transportation for customer pickups.
• Coordinate transportation to outside processors; book outbound/return transportation.
• Monitor materials sent to outside processors; notify status.
• Verify PO and vendor info for outside processing.
• Process Bills of Lading and other shipping documentation for outside_processing shipments.
• Coordinate with vendors on shipping availability.
• Prepare and process Bills of Lading and other documents.
• Verify shipment information before release (customer, product, quantity, destination, carrier).
• Prepare shipments for invoicing; provide product certifications and customer documentation.
• Maintain freight and shipment records; process POs and supporting docs.
• Scan/retain shipping docs; resolve discrepancies in orders or freight charges.
• Research and resolve discrepancies involving orders, shipments, freight charges.
• Obtain competitive freight rates while meeting delivery schedules.
• Monitor freight costs and identify unusual expenses.
• Verify freight invoices.
• Assist leadership in evaluating transport options balancing cost and customer requirements.
• Identify recurring freight problems and recommend improvements.
• Accurately enter and maintain data in Sage 100.
• Maintain documentation records and verify information before communicating status.
• Identify and correct data discrepancies and escalate as needed.
• Communicate effectively among Sales, Farm, Highway, Shipping, customers, carriers, and processors.
• Identify and resolve recurring logistics and order-processing issues; support standardized work and documentation.
• Support Franklin Industries' continuous improvement initiatives.
