Job summary

ECS Southeast, LLP in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Building Enclosure Project Associate to join our Southeast Building Science + Infrastructure team. You will support building enclosure consulting projects through field investigations, testing, and reporting, collaborating with experienced consultants to evaluate envelope performance and deliver practical solutions for diverse facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil/Structural/Architectural Engineering or Architecture (NCARB).
• 2+ years of building enclosure consulting experience (field investigations, testing, design review, or forensic assessments).
• Preferred: P.E., RA, IIBEC certifications (RRC, RWC, REWC, RBEC, CBECxP) or BECxP.

Responsibilities

• Perform building science & infrastructure testing, inspections, and consulting services.
• Conduct site observations and inspections of roofing and building enclosure systems.
• Interpret drawings and assist with CAD drafting when needed.
• Develop testing protocols, analyze results, and identify deficiencies.
• Assist with forensic assessments, commissioning, and enclosure investigations.
• Prepare clear technical reports summarizing observations, results, and recommendations.
• Interface with clients in project meetings and support junior staff development.
