Job summary

ECS is seeking a Building Enclosure Project Associate to join our Southeast Building Science + Infrastructure team in Long Beach, MS. You will support building enclosure consulting projects through field investigations, testing, and report preparation, collaborating with experienced consultants and multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical solutions for diverse facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Architecture (NCARB).
• 2+ years of related experience with building enclosure consulting, including field investigations, testing, commissioning (BECx), design review, or forensic assessments.
• Licensure or certification preferred: PE, RA, IIBEC (RRC, RWC, REWC, RBEC, CBECxP) or BECxP/CxA+BE programs.

Responsibilities

• Perform building science & infrastructure testing, inspections, and consulting services.
• Conduct site observations and inspections of roofing and building enclosure systems.
• Interpret drawings, figures, and site plans; assist with drafting or CAD work when needed.
• Perform building enclosure testing and support development of testing protocols and test plans.
• Interpret test results, identify deficiencies, and recommend corrective actions.
• Assist with forensic assessments, commissioning activities, and building enclosure investigations.
• Assist with design reviews, repair design for existing building envelope components, and peer review of specifications and submittals.
• Maintain familiarity with building codes and standards (IBC, ASHRAE, ASTM, CSI).
