Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must provide a current Motor Vehicle Report and meet the driver standards set by the company’s insurance provider.
• Must have current State of Georgia EMS license (EMT-R/EMT/EMT-Intermediate/Advanced EMT) or SC EMT/Advanced EMT with National Registry.
• Must have current Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification.
• One year experience as EMT provider preferred.

Responsabilités

• Know and apply GCEMS patient care protocols and provide treatment within scope.
• Know GCEMS territory, hospitals, and navigation; operate on scene.
• Be familiar with medical codes and GCEMS radio signals and procedures.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emergency medicine; participate in classes as needed.
• Inventory and account for drugs, IV fluids, supplies, and equipment.
• Ensure unit/equipment readiness and report deficiencies to supervisor.
• Take command on scene within scope of practice; coordinate with officers as needed.
• Work as a team with rotating driver/tech roles; follow higher-level provider decisions.
• Drive emergency vehicle with Due Regard, per EMS training and guidelines.
• Comply with departmental and company policies, procedures, directives, and protocols.

Formation

High school diploma or GED

State EMS certification: EMT-R/EMT/EMT-Intermediate/Advanced EMT (GA) or SC with National Registry

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

National Registry certification
